“Casino” is an American crime film directed by Martin Scorsese and released in 1995. The movie was based on the true story of Frank “Lefty” Rosenthal and his involvement with the mob-controlled casinos in Las Vegas during the 1970s.

The film features a star-studded cast, including Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone, Joe Pesci, James Woods, Don Rickles, Kevin Pollak among others. It received critical acclaim for its storytelling and portrayal of organized crime.

While many might think that much of the filming took place in Las Vegas where the movie plot is set up; however there were a number of other locations that were used throughout filming. Here’s a look at some of them:

1. Las Vegas

1. Las Vegas

Even though not all scenes from ”Casino”were shot in Las Vegas due to certain restrictions imposed on filmmakers by casino corporations who didn’t want any association between their brand name and criminality portrayed within this film; you can spot several iconic landmarks around town such as Riviera Casino (which no longer exists), Landmark Hotel & Casino (demolished) and The Stardust Resort & Casino which ended its’ 48-year run to make way for Echelon Place development project.

Other notable scenes filmed across various legendary locations scattered throughout Sin City include the Silver Slipper Signboard Motel (where Ginger takes Sam’s money invested into her business venture out west), Sahara Hotel/Casino rooms furnished with mirrors trim molding finishes or stucco facade spreads…and perhaps most memorable was Sam “Ace” Rothstein(De Niro) arriving at his hotel room before meeting Mayor Oscar Goodman- former Mob attorney-en-route via El Cortez Hotel basement exit onto downtown LV streets chasing him down: culminating at Fremont Street Experience LED arrayed Neon Museum signage commemorating city’s heritage since horse drawn carriage days!
2. California

2. California

One of the most notable scenes filmed on location in California was the opening scene at the high-end restaurant where Rothstein is blown up in his car by a bomb placed under his vehicle. The scene takes place at Sergio’s Italian Gardens, an actual restaurant located on 2110 South Alvernon Way Tucson Arizona.

3. Illinois

Scenes from “Casino” were shot primarily at two locations in Chicago; Michigan Ave (also known as Magnificent Mile) and North Rush Street Condos. These shots show FBI Agent Phil Green (Pesci) meeting with Sam “Ace” Rothstein(De Niro) to gather information about organized crime activities.

4. Nevada desert

A number of non-filming studio replica aerial shots showing sunrise over Las Vegas Valley used throughout this film to give panoramic views of the cityscape & desert landscape with intersecting highways stretching out into surrounding hills visible from edge horizon to center frame zoom-ins are exceptionally well-done convincingly blending into live action sequences filmed around town amid slot machines spinning fortuitous betting outcomes winning payoffs or rhythmic game playing losses wagers-as ups downs financial instability backdrops for their owners ownership companies boardroom deliberations bureaucratic jockeying advocating profits bottom lines employee hires terminations- having no qualms about firing anyone standing in their way!

“Casino” provided raw visuals highlighting some precious last days vintage casinos infrastructure that has ever been build: brilliant neon symbols outlined across towering verticals asserting authority over crowded Strip sidewalks against glimmering marquees displaying name brands emphasized multi-levelled towers crisscrossing colossal facades projecting hierarchy dominant pinnacles’ impart unassailable reputations money-making prowess through carefully crafted ghost story-telling conveyed via floor plans detailed diagrams sophisticated surveillance systems.

5. Other locations

Some scenes were also shot at other various locations including New York City represented by Stock Exchange Building downtown Manhattan – exterior establishing shot before transitioning to spectacular helicopter approach over LV’s glittering skylight spotted skyline, then onto Vegas Vic Cowboy Iconic welcome sign welcoming tourists that once stood tall on Fremont Street roof of Pioneer Club until its relocation along first St. (Main St.), now safely boarded up at Boneyard Neon Museum;

Overall the film captures the magnificence and opulence of Las Vegas and brings to life the American mafia culture in a way that has never been done before. While many scenes were not actually filmed in Las Vegas itself, they still showcased iconic locations around town carefully selected for their buildings’ facades/reminiscent features reminiscent of bygone days when mobsters such as lefthanded Rosenthal roamed those same streets seeking kicks & thrills like all other patrons waiting lady luck to shine down upon them! The legacy of “Casino” remains one filled with nostalgia & memories-an epic crime classic representation from an era long since past yet forever immortalized within cinematic history which never fades away, only getting more popular century after another lures new audiences into falling under its spell…
