In 2018, the third season of World of Dance premiered on NBC with much anticipation and excitement among dance enthusiasts. The competition brought together some of the world’s best dancers, all vying for the grand prize of $1 million. Among these talented contestants were Sean Lew and Kaycee Rice, two young dancers who quickly became fan favorites throughout the season.
Sean Lew is a 17-year-old dancer from California who began his career at an early age. He has won numerous awards for his dancing abilities over the years and has become well-known in both the dance community and mainstream media. Kaycee Rice is also a Californian dancer, known for her incredible energy and explosive dance style. She too has received much recognition for her talents as a dancer.
Together, Sean and Kaycee created one of the most memorable partnerships in World of Dance history. Their chemistry on stage was undeniable as they seamlessly blended their styles to create something truly unique. They impressed judges Jennifer Lopez, Ne-Yo, Derek Hough, and guest judge Jenna Dewan every time they took to the stage.
Throughout their journey on World of Dance, Sean and Kaycee delivered performances that left audiences awestruck with their precision movements that were executed flawlessly every time. They wowed us with lyrical hip-hop routines such as “Memories,” which earned them high scores from all judges but ultimately led to them being eliminated from that round.
However, it was during “The Cut” round when Sean And Kaycee truly shone; showcasing once again why they are considered one of the best dance duos out there today by performing a routine named “Missing You”, beautifully choreographed by Keone & Mari Madrid.
Their rendition made judge Ne-Yo emotional so much that he broke down crying in front of everyone present to witness their performance saying: “You understand how this moved me,” adding later“ This was not just movement – you guys told a story, I felt it and please know that is not always easy in this space.”
Wrapping up the “divisonal final” with another impeccable routine named “Dive”, their performance outdone some of the biggest names in the dance industry. Once again earning them high scores with incredible feedback from all judges who sang praises of their incredible synergy.
However, it was during the World Final performance when they truly wowed everyone watching- against The Kings – India’s supreme Hip-Hop crew and Canadian contemporary act “Laurence Kaiwai” – as they danced to Poppy Ajudha’s cover of “Wicked Game,” leaving an emotional judge Jennifer Lopez expressing her pride for witnessing such a beautiful piece at the competition while Derek Hough applauded their ability to infuse emotion into every movement.
The young pair took home second place trailing behind The King’s crew after achieving one perfect score on its way in their journey through the finals before being eliminated. Despite missing out on winning World of Dance championship title for season three, Sean & Kaycee still went ahead to tour alongside some finalists from other seasons until 2019.
Sean Lew currently works as a choreographer despite focusing more on his studies even though he remains active enough posting his moves continuously online via social media platforms.
Kaycee Rice has continued progressing with her dancing career fervently since finishing World Of Dance after signing under Clear Talent Group management agency following her appearance where she landed several roles including being featured in music videos for Hayley Kiyoko’s ‘Feelings’ generating over 20 million views worldwide among others. She also has co-created a popular YouTube channel titled ‘SEANCEDANCE’, amassing millions upon millions of followers consisting mainly of young people interested in learning new moves from past world champions such as Josh Killacky or Matt Steffanina showcasing genres from jazz-funk, tap-routine mashups down to cultural fusion dances.
In conclusion, although Sean & Kaycee did not be crowned World of Dance season three victors they most definitely won the hearts of millions around the globe with their talents and exceptional dancing skills. They served up some incredibly powerful performances throughout their journey on the competition that will go down in history as one of the best dance duos ever produced by NBC’s famed dance battle showdown – The World of Dance.
